Process

The first step was to create a simple sitemap that would be easy for the artist to understand and maintain. This meant a minimalist layout with a big emphasis on the artwork. 

The next step was to design the CMS system that would allow the artist to update their portfolio as they created new art. I set up a tagging system that allowed the artist to easily change the layout of their art directly from the CMS. I also added unique sections to their portfolio for both landscape and portrait art.

I added a contact form at the bottom of the homepage, and a link to the contact page in the navigation bar to direct users towards inquiries.

The visual layout was extremely important for this website. We decided to go with a very stripped down hero section, allowing the full page art piece to fill the screen. The visual goal of this website was to let the art speak for itself, and not let the interface get in the way.

Results

• Created an artist portfolio that put emphasis on the artwork.

• Designed a simple CMS to allow the artist to make updates easily.

• Directed users towards a contact form where they could reach out for inquiries.
